Mann Cup Mayhem & Atlas Domination

Parker Bottcher:

Hey. I'm Parker Blockcher, and this is Crease Monsters, the podcast where we talk all things lacrosse about epic highlights, year reviews, game predictions, and, of course, some special guests. Whether you're stringing up a new pocket, gearing up for game day, or just chill in between practices, this is your go to spot for all things the cross. If you haven't already, hit that follow button wherever you're listening, and let's get into it.

Parker Bottcher:

The Six Nations Chiefs have done it again. Three straight man cup titles. Watching them play was unreal. I was lucky enough to be at several of the games. The energy in the arena was like nothing I've ever felt.

Parker Bottcher:

The bellies fought so hard with the bellies winning the first two. I thought just maybe they could pull it off the upset and take the win. But the Chiefs showed why they're the champions by adjusting their defense, pushing the pace, and grinding it out. But the first game is burned into my brain. Seeing the Man Cup live for the first time, it was everything I imagined and more.

Parker Bottcher:

Now the PLL playoffs. Wow. The New York Atlas, my favorite team, just tore it up in the final against Denver. Their ball movement was so sharp. It felt like the other team couldn't even catch their breath for a second.

Parker Bottcher:

Trevor Bapsies was absolutely dominating the face offs, giving Atlas extra possessions, and their goalie stood tall on some massive saves. Atlas defense locked it down. Jeff T was lights out, threading passes through traffic like it he had X-ray vision, and the only real upset was Sander Dixon leaving on a stretcher. I really hope he's okay. And when the final whistle sounded, the Atlas players threw their helmets up in the air and felt like the whole PLL was celebrating.

Parker Bottcher:

As if that wasn't enough, New York hosted a street lacrosse event. The very next day, picture pros and fans mixed together right on a city street, music pumping, kids running around with sticks, pros tossing trick shots. There were people who had probably never seen lacrosse, and now they're screaming and high fiving strangers. Let's talk gear. This week, we are chatting about arm pads.

Parker Bottcher:

I've been running with the Stxl six arm pads, and these things are no joke. The protection is solid. You take a long pull to the arm, barely felt it, and they move with your arms. So you're not fighting with your equipment. When you're dodging our crank shot, they don't slide.

Parker Bottcher:

You strap them on, and they stay locked. I noticed a bunch of the PLL midfielders and I attack them and wearing them too. So it's not just me. The PLL draft was another big moment. Bo Peterson got picked by the up by Utah.

Parker Bottcher:

He's a physical defender who can throw some serious checks. Dylan Hess heading to Philly. His speed is going to make their transition game. And Sam English to the Redwoods, he's versatile to play both sides, and I think he's going to be a fit right into their system. Already hyped to see how these rookies shake things up next season.

Parker Bottcher:

And on my side of the world, field lacrosse is back on the West Coast. Our game one kicked off this weekend in classic West Coast fashion, the skies opened up and it just poured. But honestly, there's something about running onto a soaked field, raining dripped off your helmet, and still feeling that first whistle is the best. Being back with my team, the smell of wet turf, it just makes you love the game even more. What a week for lacrosse.

Parker Bottcher:

Chiefs cementing their dynasty and Atlas lifting the PLO trophy. Rookies are ready to make some noise. Street lacrosse bring the game to the people. It's such a great time to be a lacrosse fan. And before I wrap things up, I've got to give a huge shout out to my own team, the Breards.

Parker Bottcher:

I can't wait to get out there with you guys and keep the momentum rolling.
